Quote: Yes, if they have a gene for gold they will get dark red on the wings. You can sometimes tell earlier by the comb. Pullets will have a single thin ridge down the center while cockerels get a wider bumpier comb, looks like 2 smaller bumpy ridges running down either side of the larger central one. And the males turn pink earlier, usually around 5 wks.

Yours are a bit young yet, but keep a watch. Love the gold and blue one! That's what I was trying for, but no luck.

Tippy, do you "hate" your pillow yet ? LOL I have a horrible relationship with pillows. Cant find a good one. and I think I have tried them all. Many people benefit from my pillow woes. I need someone to make me one like I had for 30 some odd years. LOL
I love my pillows!!! I got new ones to go on my new bed. Which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Wishing, she would say what she always said, " You are the weirdest child I have ever met in my life. Rather have a cold hamburger for breakfast then anything else". LOL

Tippy, New pillows too ! I bet you are sleeping well.

Thanks Granny and Wishing.

They look SO different now that they are getting their feathers.....I have two Welsummers and one of them if feathering out so much faster than the other.

I am loving the gold color.

My Australorps so far are the slowest at growing in the feathers, boy are they funny looking right now.
