Good luck granny, sorry you are struggling with this heat.

thanks hun, poor things. I think Camping is right, in nature they would be in the woods with mama in the dirt.

At the farm there's long grass under the coop. The babies found a crack in the hardware cloth and go under there. The mama stays close. The other broody takes her babes to the back of the pens where it's all trees and sand.

Granny do you have an extra cake pan?
You could fill it with dirt so they can lay in it.

Last year my birds dust bathed under the low apple trees to stay cool... But you guys are quite a bit hotter there then here. Although we did have some 90 degree days

In my garage fridge...the beer one...the whole freezer is filled up with gatorade bottles, water bottles, milk jugs all frozen ready to go.
My husband thinks I have TOO many frozen things.....lol
I am prepared!

I am getting a mister like this too:

But I won't use that when they are still so small.
Ill wait until they get bigger.

Been worried about you today. Glad you have a plan.

I never imagined that you would have heat issues up north.
I thought only us southern states where hot.

I have friends that have chickens and they don't do anything to help cool them off and they seem to be just fine.
I would never let mine "suffer"....lol
