My BR hens aren t laying didly squiat. They are 18 months old. They finished theor molt 2 months ago. Gonna be dogfood soon. I wanted to cross them this fall with my leminbar roo 1 more time to get homozygous lemonbar roos. They better step it up. They get layer feed, veggie scraps, mealworms, grass & weeds from garden. What more can i do?

That's crazy! My SS hens always took forever to lay. I've never had one lay young than 6 mos and most are at least 8.

They started laying at 7 months, molted at 18 months & have not syarted back laying. Only an occasional egg from them. Their black sexlink offspring out produce them many times over

My Minorca took a long time after her first hard molt. But once she started laying again the eggs were better than before and she became more consistent. Just give them time.
