Granny...if you want to apply for medicaid and food stamps for him you just need his social security card and birth certificate.
You do not need a POA.

Do you have those or even better does DD have them?
If not that is where you need to start.
Get his card and an original BC

He has it already.

Most important things to have for kids...anyone to apply for anything is the SSC and BC and actually you will need a copy of his shot records.

I don't know that, sorry. Call Snap and ask them about food stamps and REMIND them everybody in your household is on disability or SS. We looked a couple of weeks ago and you thought they had miscalculated your income. Please call them or go in person!

He has it already.

He made have it with them (his mom) but if you want to get it for him then you will need to apply......(That means her FS amount would drop and you would get some money for him)
It probably wouldn't be much but any could help.
But I rem you saying that you may not qualify with your SS and disability.
SO....even ig he is covered under medicaid with his mom you then would only (MAYBE) need a POA to take him to the dr.
