make the jello like you would any time after the cake is done but dont refrigerate it. poke hole with straw or end of a wooden spoon and pour it over the yellow cake. Mix powdered sugar with lemon oil or juice is better and some of the zest. pour that over the cake after it cools. You can taste it to see if its too sour use some water and more sugar or butter.

That's the other way to do it. Gramma just mixed the jello powder with the cakes mix. Only the glaze goes on top in her version. Some people use pudding mix too.

I don't feel like running to the store again to get a cake mix and jello...but boy it sounds soo good!

Fell asleep and had a nightmare. :(

Also pretty sure I heard a baby crowing in the inside brooder. They started hatching last Wednesday. If it's the one I think it hatched first, a full two days early.

Crowing at a week old!

What!

DID you miss the news Camping...?
It's just after 5:30.

Do you ever have "scared" young kids that want to go home?
I would love to send my kids to your camp but I would want to stay to help you too!
(I would never be able to leave my youngest one anywhere over night--I would freak out...he is extra special!)

Im craving a vietnamese sandwich now!

The local Vietnamese grocery store has a small deli...they make awesome sandwiches.
Our comes with three types of sliced meat...I won't even ask what they are...
Toasted bread...with butter on one side of the bread and pate on the other side..
With the shredded carrots, cucumbers, cilantro and jalapeños and the sprinkle some unknown seasoning on it.

You can't really see the fruit flies on the strip.....
