There's a storm rolling around and it's bedtime dark right now. I've gotten off the sofa only twice since 10 am. Just no motivation today.

I really, really wanted to get the birds sorted today.

I am so looking forward to this 4H and Fia stuff.

I can't wait for 3rd grade to come around!

I just learned that I can be a "volunteer" and "teach" a gardening "class" for the school year.
Would have to buy the teaching book and the kids would have to pay for their books....and basically we could "find" stuff around our houses (or me buy) to make a small garden or container garden.

We would have to complete 44 group activities and 44 individual activities...
some VERY basic
And the kids would BE JR. MASTER GARDENERS!

Too cool.

No ma'am...no sauerkraut for me.
I was feeding fermented food and I will start a new batch soon to get ready for my new chicks that will be here next week.
I am a firm believer in it.
I tried to convince this person on BYC to try it...well I didn't really try to convince him...jsut sent him a link and he tried it for 3 days and is ready to quit.
I really really want him to give it a little longer and I was just wondering if any of ya'll did it.

(i really want him to continue because he is making a very very detailed report about the TOTAL experience with his birds--cost/feed/weight)

anyone here feed Fermented food to their chickens?

I ferment my feed for all age chickens, but i have tKen a break from it since it is so hot & it was molding. I was keeping it in laundry room (ac) but dh complained about smell so i moved it to back porch. It has been above 90* here for 96 days straight. Gonna be a severe winter. Corn i shucked this am jad 10+ layers of husk.

My gks were in 4h. No fees. Talent contest, public speaking, lock block competition(gs won ay district level), sewing, gardening, animals, food preservation. Helps keep them busy. Camp in summer(3days for $125 each)..
