We need to plan for next summer!

Back from back to school night. He's got some impressive teachers this year. Should be good... now if I can just get him to study...

Sorry about the chick, camping. It was the first thing I thought when I saw the new babies, that maybe you didn't need to get them. I didn't want to say anything and jinx you, but it happened anyway. Now you are stuck with those adorable little fluffy balls of cuteness. Such a shame... such a shame.

Rarity is the bomb!

Do kids say that anymore? I was watching the news on the hurricane earlier, and it looked like some of the clouds were going to reach you, but better that it doesn't. LA has had enough rain for now.

Now if it were only an hour away from wishing..... We'd have it made!
We could meet in Ashland and go see some plays! Nice that Mare is so close to you. h2o is closest to me, and after that, Kathy.

Granny, don't know what to tell you about CB. My younger would have these painful stomach aches until I said he could stay home, and then miraculously, they would vanish and he'd be running all over the house. I figured a mental health day every so often wouldn't hurt. Now that he's older and can't afford to miss class, I tell him he has to have a fever or some bodily fluid flowing uncontrollably from an orifice to stay home. Swing by the school and get his makeup work. Plenty of time to finish it over the long weekend. He's too sick to go to school, he's to sick to go to the fire station, too, but the swap will be fine... all that fresh air is healthy!

@Wishing4Wings

Well, then somebody is wrong. Either the genetics for the Royal is incorrect, or that farm's record keeping is incorrect. Not sure what to think. Maybe there is some other info regarding yak genetics.

evening wish finally caught up

Hey there! I've been trying to research more about the color. Found a scientific abstract, but I'm still trying to decipher it.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24989079

They are talking about the white coloration in yaks originating from cattle. Deletion mutation, means a piece of chromosome is lost during replication, is what created white. (Pigment requires a genetic sequence for it to be produced. If a mutation causes that sequence to be absent, no pigment is produced, resulting in white.) Not sure what serial translations are, but thinking royal may not be incomplete dominance as was stated in the original paper. More research!!

I remember reading something about Prince Allante being "special" but can't remember in what way or where I read it. Maybe I will try googoleing him

I saw his page and all his apparent offspring. Incomplete dominance not possible if all the info on his page is true.
