GRAPHIC Need some help Duck attacked by Dog

Update: Day 3
I have to cover up Hope’s wound today as I didn’t have the time yesterday. She’s drinking and not really eating much so I’ll either have to put something in her water that will give her some kind of nutrients or force feed her, force feeding I don’t really want to do. If she survives I’ll most likely retire her from showing, even though she’s only been to one show and she got 2nd place :(. Thanks for the help everyone!!!

I just have a few questions:
1. What does sugary water do?
2. Is it ok that I’m keeping her outside with the ducklings?
3. How can you tell if there’s dead tissue?

Thanks for any responses

I don't know the answers to the question you asked but #2....I would, if she were mine, put her inside, but what ever you have to do is fine!

If shes made it to today she will probably do well! Just keep the wound clean and covered so bugs and dirt stays out. Keep it covered since you cant keep her inside. Change bandages once or twice daily for about a week or more depending how bad it is. Give her another day to perk up and eat but id try some electrolytes for sure to help heep her hydrated. Comes in a powder you add to the water and it's good for the other ducklings too.

We’ve sprayed the wound with something which has an insecticide in it so there’s should be fine.
