Grass stuck in my chick's throat?

One of our 4-week-old chicks had a long piece of grass hanging out of her mouth for about a half hour, so I tried to pull it out, but it seemed to be hurting her, so I broke it off. I hope it's all right they are eating grass. They have only been outside now for two days. Hope I haven't put them outside too soon.

No, they can be eating grass. She may just be getting the hang of it. Whenever mine eat a long piece I just pull it out.
