Grateful, grateful

I've had my 3 chickens for just over 2 weeks, and we are having such a great time getting to know each other! I've just started letting them out a bit - they only get to roam the yard with me present - and what a great day we had in the California sun! I made a few coop modifications, let the dog and the chickens work on getting to know each other a bit more, and basically just hung out. I love that they are getting to trust me and will follow me around. The boldest one lets me pet her now. Who knew every little step forward with them would be so rewarding? It makes me happy when I see them so content.

And the eggs are heavenly.
