Great-horned Owl Fun in 2018

I finally got my videos showing owl consuming chicken while it riles up chickens nearby. Chickens for most part already acclimating to presence of owl like they do to me and my dogs. I am also see a difference between chicken breeds. The American Dominiques are least impacted by activities of the owl while the American Games are still fluffing up.

The owl really looks like a cat while covering the carcass. Hopefully youtube will support slow motion like I have with the editing software.

Video is getting problematic during upload.

Owl had not been in until tonight just before dark. I was alerted to owl's presence first by dogs sitting quietly while all oriented towards poultry area. Lead dog Lucy was mostly looking at chickens giving the low intensity alarm call for owl and glancing up into tree owl most frequently uses before going into barn. Dog and I immediately went to barn and penned about 10 birds roosting in vulnerable locations. Carcass nearly two weeks old and untouched is in place.

Sky clear and temperature approaching 50 F.
