Does anybody have experiance with Great Pyrenees's as guard dogs? We're thinking about getting one to protect our flock...
    Thanks!

There's a few threads over in the Predators/Pests section about them. I don't have any experience with them but there's folks there that do. And they love them.

  4. Hello! We have Maremmas and they don't like the chickens, at ALL. But they do a really good job protecting our other livestock. They ain't lap dogs.

I have Maremmas that guard my chickens, sheep and goats as well as baby calves. We are located on a large piece of land with coyotes, cougars, badgers, coons, bobcats and lots of hawks and eagles. LGD's aren't for every situation, but the right dogs are invaluable.
