My husband bought a special padded helmet for my little guy for when he was crawling. He hated it... he looked ridiculous. I'm not sure why the other two kids didn't need one - of course he's already been to the ER 4 or 5 times...

When DS was learning to crawl, I wound up crocheting little "socks" for the ends of my rocking chair rockers, the legs of the sewing table, and a few other things, because he was always bumping his head on them. DD wasn't nearly as bad about getting bumped - she had other ways to drive her momma nuts.

I've never dropped a baby or have been dropped myself. However I did do flips in my bed when I was five, until I missed the bed and landed on the top of my head. Things have gotten weird since then. Seeing things before they happen, sometimes hearing other peoples thoughts and other things I shall not discuss!

Rhetorical question - is it an act of cruelty to bake brownies when one's husband is allergic to chocolate?
It is indeed an act of cruelty.

Sourland never hit his head. He's normal.
