I am still trying to get into the mood to paint some peafowl, after this move all my canvas and such is packed up somewhere in the garage.... LOL. I've tried painting in Corel and such..... but I'm a bit old fashioned when it comes to painting.

I may just try some watercolor... haven't done that in a bit, you have me inspired.

Wow lots of comments, sorry I spent a looong time with technical support to update my security program. Thanks everyone for the comments!

Zazouse I used Photoshop cs4 for this drawing. It is hard to draw using a mouse so I have a tablet which lets me use a pen to draw on a pad. Sometimes I use other Adobe programs like Illustrator and flash, etc. I am in multimedia at school so I get to learn how to use a bunch of these different programs to make all sorts of graphics.

Chickenzoo I hope you can get in the mood to paint. I have times where I just don't feel like drawing or I really want to draw but don't know exactly what to draw. Sometimes I think if you haven't been doing artwork for a while and you start doing artwork again you remember all over again why you like it and the reward you get when you finish your art.

I loved that painting you did of the lion that was beautiful!

Photoshop CS4 and a wacom tablet. The tablet lets me draw as if I was using a pen and not a mouse, it is VERY helpful especially since it is pressure sensitive.

I still don't know what I want to be...There are several things I am interested in but I don't know what I love the most. I don't want to just get any job. I watched my dad have a job he hated. Now he is retired but he has told me NOT to have a job just because it pays well or it is easy. He said I should have a job I really enjoy. I don't know what I would enjoy the most and that really frustrates me. I have thought of all sorts of things from when I was little I wanted to be a sea world trainer, then a few years later a vet, zookeeper, art teacher, graphic designer, 3-D animator, writer...I don't know what appeals to me the most.

Wow! I never expected to see so many people whipping up peafowl. I've heard it said that there is only one bird more difficult to illustrate realistically than a peafowl and that's a Grey Peacock Pheasant- Clinton I've not forgotten you- but I have shoved peafowl out of my mind for a minute while I get over some irksome issue that gives me a headache.
Peas

and- your brushes and paints- I'll forward you the tracking number when the office sends it to me.

Minx- it would be great if there were more people interested ininteractive exhibit sign design - just something to think about- who exactly writes the information on a painting or photograph or at the zoo? They're written for everyone reading them- imparting lots of stuff- but it's a rare talent.

Minx, many of us have learned that we can be several things and have multiple careers - not necessarily at the same time, but we can. We can totally switch gears and still excel if it's our passion. It's okay to switch careers. You don't need to lock yourself into any one discipline, so be open to everything. You don't need to choose just one. When I was in my twenties, if someone told me I'd be doing what I do now, I'd probably have had a heart attack. What interests me now is nearly a polar opposite from then. It's all in our growth and evolution. You're special and we all know it.
