Green Queen/Meyer Hatchery

Yea, there's so much variety with EEs. With the green legs and pea comb, that's probably what Meyer considered her.

I think she's going to be stunning. Every light colored EE I've seen grown has been beautiful. Will be interesting to watch her feather out and see the egg color.

good to know! Thank you because she has had me puzzled. All of my EEs have had muffs so I was lost lol. I can’t wait to see her feathering as well. I love the lighter color. Most of mine have more of the red/brown color. So this will be a great addition.

Mine is 6 weeks old, very pretty so far! Has a green sheen on feathers. Kind of in the middle, personality-wise—could take or leave any human attention and is pretty independent in the flock.

Great to see all the green queens. Such cool birds.

Do you have a pic of your lakeshore egger? I received a rare breed box from them
7/9 & I’m wondering if 1 might be that. Thank you 😊

Sorry for the delay and don't want to hijack the great green queen discussion - but here is a photo of our lakeshore egger (bottom). She's a pretty bird. The one above her was our bonus chick ("meal maker") from Meyer as well, a female buff brahma that we're also quite thrilled with.

Both beauties!

I ordered two Dominique’s and a Green Queen from Meyer in April. They’re are 20 weeks old and both Dominiques started laying this week. By the looks of our GQ, I think she’s got some light Brahma in her so I thought it would be a while before she lays...however she’s doing the ‘submissive squat’ so hopefully soon. She doesn’t cluck like a chicken she SCREAMS. She isn’t very friendly and chases our Lab and the cat out of the yard every chance she gets. But we love her! She has feathered feet and muffs...was solid yellow when we got her at 3 days old from Meyer. Can’t wait to see if she actually lays a green egg!
