Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

Has anyone planted honey berry shrubs? They are in the honey suckle family. I just bought a couple of 2 year old plants. You need 2 different varieties for cross pollination.
I put in a new herb garden for my husband at the end of last season. You should see what my chickens have done to it over the past couple of days. They have dug holes that you could lose a small car in.

Hey Albert how have you been? You haven't been on in a while. I hope everything is OK.

I have a promo code for free shipping it's FS38 for Burpees. Did you ever get the seeds I sent? I sent some of those easy peasy from Burpees that I told you about last year. They are all this years seeds that I sent.

Yes I did and I do appreciate them. Things have been crazy here and I am forgetting a lot these days. I will try that promo code and see if it's still good.

I can't wait to get started. I cleaned the chicken coop and then dumped a bag of Miracle grow soil on top. It was frozen but I got it out. I'm waiting to mix it up.

I buy soil on sale at the end of the year and leave it til spring. Now I just need to get some horse manure.

I have ordered some rhubarb roots already and next is Burpees and Berry plants.

Thanks again.

No worries. I'm just glad you got them. I've been inverting numbers lately and with that they could have gone to anyone. we will have to keep each other informed as to how the corn does. I'm excited as well.the red corn is for eating cooked . It's not the type that they use for popcorn.

check the corn and peas out on the Burpee website.

Well I have had a little over 15.5 inches of rain this February . Everything is seriously water logged. Going to be a couple of weeks before we can till. But my oldest son is fixing a spot to plant his radish.

Pics of what I have been doing in the garden/yard this last month or two.

The bed along the house is bulbs and drought loving perinial/herb/flowers. The far side of the fence line I still need to weed and mulch it is comfrey, this side of the fence is forsythia and strawberries.

The fence line along the lt side is the same forsythia/strawberry bed as the first pic. The back area is raspberries, strawberries, garlic, and will be fig trees.

Long view of the raspberries/strawberries/garlic/figs. Each fence spur is 10 feet, and each space between the spur is 10 feet. This area is very shaded so hoping the berries will like it there.

And speaking of strawberries here is one of the little darlings. lol

80 feet line of fence weeded and mulched 2 feet wide on each side of the fence. Eventually will be highbush blueberries on the east side, forsythia on west side w/ strawberries at the base and garlic. Some forsythia is already planted the rest will be this fall/winter, blueberries will have to wait until I can afford them. This year I am going to plant the whole thing in peanuts, for mass amount of cheap seeds and good high protien fodder for either chickens or if I am able to get the bunny houses finished then the bunnies.
The 4 foot wide bed by the house goes all the way around to the front and then you already saw the other side. This side will be planted in shade loving herbs and mint (maybe if I get enough mint the ants won't come in

) and bulbs (flowers) around front bulbs, blueberries (mostly low bush) and flowers.

We've started getting strawberries here already. Our gardening season starts early. I like to grow tomatoes and strawberries because they seem to do best in the heat we get. The summers will literally burn you to the ground.

Kass, my shoulder and back are screaming from just looking at your photos. Man does it look great.loved that you planned it all out. Most people around here just throw the stuff in the ground .
I have to take photos of the kale and salad in my cold frame. It is great. I really need to have a second one built for next year.
