Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

Kass, nice.

Won't be any Currants this year since I didn't get the blocked from the chickens again. Not many anyhow but they eat them green.

Working to get everything done. Squash and some tomatoes are up, but having to work to refill the beds after the chickens got in there. It's blocked off now so they can't dust themselves and throw the soil out.

No gooseberries either. I picked off the flowers and any berries that formed. They're still too young yet and I'm learning how to take care of them.

Jostaberry plants not in yet. Can't figure out where to put them. Another I'll have to fence in.

Raspberries look good but not sure how many I'll get if at all. Have to fence them in too. TSC has 36" poultry wire on sale and have been buying that.

Lots of rain here and grass to mow. Help me Jesus, I am tired.

Also have to go for ppd test and physical for my new job. Three days a week.

Broodies like crazy in the BR coop so no eggs from there. I should have just started pulling the eggs but I wanted a few more hens of them. I've been trading and selling chicks when I can.

It is so busy.

Well it's raining like the dickens here and I still stuck some lettuce and Zucchini seeds in the ground. I've got more seeds than anyone has the right to have.

I buy them when they're on sale but never have room to plant them all. Any ideas how I can take them out of the packages and store them?

Beautiful flowers Kass.

Great peas, cabbage, kale, beans , garlic, potatoes and eggplant so far this year. Cucumbers and peppers not so great actually Cukes are terrible.

Some sunflower pics, these came from a couple of pkts of mixed sunflower seeds I planted this spring.

I think this one looks like an eclipse

Haven't had much luck this year. Squash bugs are terrible this year! I have managed to get 2 butternut before it all died (I had planted acorn, butternut, zucchini and jack-o-lantern). Did get a good 3 pints of blackberries and a few handfuls of strawberries. Tomatoes are finally catching on.

Everything else is just a failure.. better luck next year. Crazy weather did me in I think.

Hello All, well I've just about had it with this weather. I think my chickens would agree.
I have all kind of seeds ready to go.I'll be trying some weird new things this year.On my way home from the New England poultry congress I stopped at Baker Creek Heirloom Seed company in Wethersfield CT and went crazy. What an amazing place.there catalog is just beautiful to thumb through. Makes a great coffee table book...LOL. If anyone has the chance to visit you will not be disappointed. They also have a shop in Mansfield MO and Petaluma CA. rareseeds.com

Albert if you're out there, the Seeds from the trumpet vine came up last year. I'm hoping they survive this winter and return this spring. Hopefully they get flowers this year.
Stay warm and happy spring...(soon)
