Green thumb is itching, anyone else?

We never dug up trees, and never took all of what ever wildflower or plant we were getting a sample of. Our first choice was always seeds or cuttings, but would take a rooting if needed. And NEVER took anything even a pebble from a state or national park.

This is one of my favorite house plants. Its from a piece I borrowed from a restaurant in San Francisco's Chinatown and it grows soooo slowly. I think its a pothos? No idea what variety. Also, check out the abalone shell planter to the left with succulents planted in it. They make neat planters.

Maybe it's weird to talk about my plants but I never get to!

Oh! And here's part of my Wandering Jew trailing down. It came from a piece I borrowed from a casino lobby in Vegas.

Well trust me if you need souvineirs buy some don't take rocks. One they all look a like and two you won't remember where you got them and three it's just a stupid thing to collect. If you must collect things collect friends. It's harder than rocks but worth more.

I mean when have you ever seen anyone on Antiques roadshow with a rock?

Yum!
We ate at the county fair today. Not as healthful as your lunch but those corn dogs and elephant ears sure were yummy!
Sounds great. Some of the people on the Dutchess county,Southern ny thread are planning a trip to the NJ state fair hopefully it all falls into place. I haven't been to a state fair since I left Ithaca..NY fair now that's a fair.I am such a junk food junky and my husband is the exact opposite.

I picked 6 cucumbers yesterday and the tomatoes are coming in .Oh boy.

Al I do have a few house plants that I have to take pictures of cause they are quite unusual. One is call an African Onion and the othe are Dragon fruit plants I got both of them from eBay. I first saw them at the Philadelphia flower show. If anyone ever gets a chance to go to that show it is amazing. My problem is that every summer I usually put them all outside under a tree. This year I haven't cause my chickens free range (or should I say control)my backyard. If we can figure out how to mail one I have an extra dragon fruit that you could have. You should look them up on line although mine look nothing like the ones you will see.Well maybe my African onion.

Wel it seems like I'm babbling so I say see you later. Carol

I have a recipe for Eggplant preserves.   I made some but DW didn't like it but we have some Italian friends who loved it.
I really want to make eggplant parmesan but I am out of all my sauce I put up last year.I really don't want to buy tomatoes at the farmers market . I'm going to check into frying up the eggplant slices and freezing them til the tomatoes are in.
I do have this great recipe for "roasted tomatoes. Yes it sounds strange be it is great.
You cut up ripe tomatoes, onion, garlic and lay them out on a cookie sheet that has olive oil on it.Sprinkle all of it with Italian type seasonings and roast it.when it is slightly cool you blend it just slightly. You canthen freeze it we use this base for everything all year long.It makes a great base for soup and we use it as the starter for are sauce.I love it cause with the exception of the olive oil everything comes from my garden. Have a great day Carol
