Greetings from my mountain eyrie

I live in a rural area but there aren’t a lot of fences. I have tolerated numerous dog attacks for nearly 12 months, the last was in August and her dogs tried to attack the hens through the mesh but thankfully couldn’t break in. She insists she can’t always control them and I reminded her that as a dog owner she has both responsibility and obligation to do exactly that. The shire council have now spoken with her and we’ve been incident free for almost 8 weeks now. But yes hubby is talking of fencing out a larger area under the trees for them to forage in safety
Someone who "can't always control" their dogs shouldn't own dogs. Sorry, but it's absurd that she wouldn't fully accept responsibility.

We have an invisible fence and the only time our border collie breached it was when she was running for her life from a protective deer.

NSW = New South Wales I believe.
She's a Queenslander like me, Nancy! There's a sort of No Man's Land thing happening with the border town which can't seem to decide which side of the border it belongs on!

Flaymm, I have been there recently. My neighbor is an idiot with three large Pit Bulls. One of these morons decided to used my two brown egg layers(Australorp & Red Sex Link) as a rag doll and break their necks. I wish in retrospect he had just eaten them but he left them just over on their lawn where I could see them. I am sorry for your loss. Welcome to BYC. Ask these folks anything...
