Hello,

Wifey here from SE Georgia. Hubby is building us a homestead (for now we rent from friends) and of course we want chickens to be part of our family once we are able to actually move out onto our lil piece of land. We were only able to secure four acres. But, from what we see going on around us that may well indeed prove to be a huge blessing.

We had chickens in Florida, but I want to begin as if from scratch with a new, open mind in learning about how to properly care for them.

We will call our land "Hip Hillbilly Farm". All I learn I will share with the mister.

Thank you for being a force in the backyard chicken world.

Thank you. I am reading through the 411 now. Even the thought of what we can get started with is exciting. I know I want coloured eggs; how fun. Off hand I am thinking marans, easter eggers, araucanas, leghorns, Jersey Giant. Now I need to see if they will thrive in SE Georgia.

Thank you for chiming up.
You would probably do best to find out if they do over in your Georgia state thread. Just ask.
