Thanks...You're right! I did wrap 1/4 inch wire fabric up the exterior about 24 inches. There are two layers over the chain link and include the 1/4 inch wire fabric and chicken wire which goes all the way around the exterior of the run.

I would go clear to the roof with the hardware cloth. Critters like weasels and coons are very good climbers, and won't hesitate to do so. A raccoon is capable of eating a chicken through the wire if he can catch it (and they can).
Other than that, your coop is great! Welcome to BYC! It's a good place to learn all sorts of things.

The wire and the chicken wire goes all the way up to where the roof meets the top member. Great suggestion ! If a critter can get it is welcome to my chickens...lolo
