Grit?

I have some 11 week old Silkies and was wondering when is a good time to change them over to regular grit and not chick grit? I have been meaning to ask and sorry if I sound dumb! LOL

if they are free range they find there own grit i think. even in the coop mine find grit i don't need to give them grit

On the bag I had for my chicks it said up to 10 weeks. So after that I switched to regular chicken grit. Whether or not you need to supply it depends on how they are kept. My run is mostly grass and where there is dirt it's fairly fine sand so I do supply grit to them.

They dont have access other than what I give them. I am working on a chicken tractor for them. They cant free range because of the dogs! I dont think my dogs would do anything but chase, but dont wanna take any chances! Thanks. Duh I didnt think about reading for once(what a tard!) LOL
