Grooming Thread!!!!!!

I've been so busy I haven't done it either!

Yeah it’s hard to remember sometimes. I kept forgetting cause I wanted to do it in the morning so it would dry by bedtime but I get really busy in the mornings cause my nurse comes and then I have to walk him (if I don’t before that) and then get ready for Club etc. so I kept forgetting LOL I finally did it today

I need to give him another bath maybe but I think it’s way too soon LOL but it smells a little funny down here so trying to clean everything LOL but I think it’s a damp towel I have hanging up cause I sniffed it and it’s def that but I also need to vacuum.

How intensive is grooming a Golden or Leonberger? LOL

I LOVE both breeds but I have a feeling their grooming is quite intensive… especially bathing something as big and furry as a Leo

But I could be WAY wrong LOL

Also I think a Leo is way too big for me atm plus I can’t even get a second dog anytime soon anyways but still. LOL just curious.

For Tucker its just a bath once a month sometimes every other month. I use a no rinse shampoo sometimes. Then winter its no baths just the no rinse. I trim his fur maybe once a month along with a tiny nail trim. He barely ever needs them cut even his dew claws. It takes 2 or 3 towels to dry him.

Denvers bath takes me 2 ish hours first a quick brush, then a rinse, i shampoo her, let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes well slicker brushing a bit. rinse, shampoo again as its a shampoo and conditioner, but doing it twice she doesnt smell like wet dog. Then rinse, then comes the longest part drying it takes over a hour to fully dey her with 8 to 10 towels. She gets brushed every other day. Nails trimmed once a week. On regular just grooming days i can do it in as little as 30 minutes. The shaping and actual grooming is done at baths. I much prefer a wear and tear coat that doesnt need a ton of grooming.
I couldnt imagine grooming and bathing Newfies
