GSD lovers - what's your favorite coat color?

I like black and tan with a large saddle....like my dog was. I also like the silver sables, but they are all beautiful. I admit I like a large saddle better than a small one.

Thank-you Gritsar. He was a wonderful dog as well as handsome. I really miss him. The only dog I have ever had that had a sense of humor. He was extremely expressive and quite easy to understand whatever he was trying to communicate.

Also, the only dog I have ever known that LOVED bread over meat. I don't know how many loaves of bread I lost to him. If his nose could touch it, it was his. He would never put his paws on the table or counter but if he could reach with his nose, it was gone. I bought a bread box because of him. LOL.

I hope one day again I will have a relationship as close with another dog as I did with him.

Jax started chewing his blanket too.
An excellent idea that my DH came up with - Atwoods (like a TSC store) sells large old-fashioned burlap sacks for around $1.79. We bought two of them, folded Jax's crate blanket into a square and slipped it inside the burlap sack like you would a pillow in a pillow case. We then slipped the whole thing into the other burlap sack. It's the perfect size for his crate and he has no interest in chewing it. He sleeps in our bedroom and I couldn't stand the sound of toenails on the plastic at night.

Black and silver or black and tan, and I agree about the American lines being too sloped. I like the old fashioned ones better- and I miss every single GSD I ever had, and can't wait till I can get another!

While waiting for the new puppy I kept saying I wanted a black or a very dark sable but secretly I was hoping for a black and silver. The breeder has a black and silver female right now, but we'd already made up our minds on a male.

That is a good idea! I will try that, and see if it passes the Sophie test.

For me it is a toss up between the bi-colors and the black sables. I also like the solid blacks. I definitely like the working lines over the show lines.

These are my current pups ~
