After a while, people gave up reporting minor crimes some even gave up reporting the more violent ones as there is just not enough resources to respond to all of them, people just prefer to get on with their lives instead of being dragged through the court system.

guys this was probably meant as more of a joke than anything else.im in teaxs as well. my parents r looking into guns. sometimes u have to protect urself. ive had my purse stolen at school and i WANTED to shoot the dude who did it. i did get the purse back and the guy DID get sent to the office but the truth is. u r mad! u get really mad! its like ur emotions all burst into flame spontaniously. now can we please just take the joke and move on?

Just today some teenage boys were on my property. One was carrying a rifle, and the rest were carrying paint ball guns. One drove by with an ATV that had closed carrier things strapped on the back.
So I went and shut the gate. I also sat on my front porch with my pellot gun sitting in my lap. Nice gun. 1000 feet per second. Lucky for them my neighbor's daughter ran over explaining that they were working on a school project *making some movie* in the woods behind my house for a school project.

Very lucky for them cause' I would have had no problem shooting if any of them even twitched that hand carrying the 'weapons'.

I guess I can truly see everyone's point of view. A purse is not worth a life, BUT if everyone who stole a purse got shot/shot at, you can bet that there would be less attempted theft.

I personally think there might be something to be said for idealist marksmanship. You threaten me in my own house and then I would shoot to kill becayse I am in danger. You take my purse (so I feel I have been violated, but not in danger of death) than you might get a shot to the calf/butt, and a nasty lecture once I take my purse right back from you.

A good marksman/woman should be able to pull that off, right?
