Here is a pic of Aubree my great granddaughter she had them taken for her 2nd birthday. The lady that took the pics said she was the best toddler she has ever taken pics of. Aubree loves to have her pic taken and poses for the camera.



She is just precious, Patty! I love the tutu and silver slippers. What fun things they have for little girls now. I'll bet she would like wearing those butterfly wings too. Enjoy her - they grow up so quickly.

I have some good news, the Turkeys have accepted the Guineas and Chickens in the coop. I am thrilled specially with the terrible wind and cold front that hit us this week. Our crib idea in the coop has helped them and I now have it open 24/7 so they can escape from the turks if they need to. They have stopped chasing Delta and now are all laying together and even eating together.

Wow! That is GREAT news! I'm so glad to hear that everyone is playing nice together. You certainly must have provided a safe environment for them in order to get to this point. Pat yourselves on the back and run with it while you can.

That's great that they are all getting along togeather. When there is peace in the coop it just brings you joy to know their all getting along. I bet the turkeys have some big bodies for the chickens and the guineas to cuddle up to. It's gotten cold here too. We've been down in the 20s at night but warming up to the 50s during the day. Spiderman come in for a while yesterday and sit on my lap. I wrapped him with a little baby blanket and he loved it. He closed his eyes and almost went to sleep. Mary Jane has been mad at me since I put some sevin dust on her for mites. She can sure hold a grudge against you.

Thank you and she is a sweetie. I just melts my heart to hear her say I love you Granny. She has her Peppa Pig shirt on. That is her favorite cartoon character. When that show comes on she is almost hypmotized watching it. Sorry for the spelling. The characters in the cartoon are from England and they have an english accent. When she calls Josh Daddy she says DAD DEE just like Peppa calls her dad.

Have a great day it's suppose to get up in the 50s not to bad. I have to clean the fridge today so I can have room for all the Thanksgiving leftovers. I still have a few things to get at the store before Thursday. I bet it's going to be a madhouse.

Well, it's not in the 50's in central New York. We are in the 30's and got about a foot of snow and the birds have been closed up in the barn for the past 3 days. I thought they might want to check out the snow this afternoon, but this is as far as it got - the ramp! They are going to have a LONG winter!

Rhonda they are gorgeous. Oh boy they are afraid of the snow. It looks like they would have tried to walk in the snow after being shut up for 3 days. My guineas are going to be staying on the porch of the cabin I guess when it snows. My chickens won't walk on the snow either.

I thought they might want to check out the snow this afternoon, but this is as far as it got - the ramp! They are going to have a LONG winter!

I've never had a guinea who didn't absolutely hate the snow! The first winter that I had my Guineas, a neighbor's dog came and chased them in a tree about the time it started to snow. They were all around 6 months old at the time, so had never seen snow before and were scared to death! They stayed up high in the trees while the snow was falling and then refused to come down for several days since there was snow on the ground. I tried everything to get those crazy birds down! After about 2 days of this, the temp dropped to -20 with high wind and they got blown out of the trees in the middle of the night. I was out there with a flashlight rounding them up half the night. Luckily, they all survived but one of the males got frostbite on one of his wattles and it fell off. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I have lost sleep or driven myself half crazy trying to negotiate with these silly birds.....but despite that, I still love 'em! Every day is an adventure when you have Guineas!

Those poor birds. I feel bad for them and worse for y'all! We have a cold front coming through tomorrow bringing some much needed rain. The forecast for Thanksgiving is 76 degrees. If we ever get snow here, they probably won't get their usual morning treats. I'll be bundled up in the bed.

I can't imagine having them out for two days with high wind and below zero weather. Good thing you got them back and only one had difficulty.

I did try getting the flock out again today. It was a bit warmer, some sun and no wind AND there were paths of grass, so they seemed okay with that.

I was reading online about guineas and winter and one of the things they mentioned was that snow sort of rocks their world (my words not theirs) since they are used to the ground being dark and the sky being light. With snow, the sky is still light, but the ground is even lighter. Poor honeys! They were all mixed up.

So they did do a bit of exploring in the snow, but preferred the grassy paths and I had to guide them back to the barn using the bell and negotiating around the snow. They were only out for a couple of hours so they got in some good exploration and ate some grass and dug in the dirt.

Patty - I had to look up Peppa Pig. That was one I wasn't familiar with. That's cute that Aubree uses an English accent to call Josh DAD DEE. That picture is just beautiful and captures her sweetness. Hope you got the fridge cleaned out and have your shopping done. Don't get too tired out from all your cooking and prep.
