Like I said before: If they want our guns and ammo, they can come and get it. They can have the ammo first.

Also, to protect the sensitive and not get the thread locked - I have no desire to shoot a person. However, I know how to handle a gun and am fully capable of defending my life, my family and my property.

I posted this a bit ago. The situation turned out harmless but really underlined why I keep firearms for home defense. If this had been a real home invasion, a police officer 10 minutes away would have been able to do NOTHING for me.

My husband is a disabled veteran, 14 yrs active army. I am handing nothing over.........
I for one am sick of pacifism and everyone's let's get along attitudes, where has that gotten anyone? I think they should play 9/11 daily..........
I guess it goes with the attitude of everyone gets a trophy.....no need to win cuz you get a trophy anyway? The bar just keeps getting lower..........

My husband was called a "baby killer" by a liberal woman. But bet your bippy if someone was coming into her house/town she would be the first to want my husband there to protect her with his gun.....

I definitely agree with your post. Gun control legislation such as this do nothing to combat crime. It does make criminals out of law abiding citizens. Every intelligent person needs to read, "Registration: The Nazi Paradigm" by Stephen P. Halbrook, Ph.D., J.D. Hitler used gun registration to confiscate weapons from the German population which left the Jewish people helpless. Ummmm. Now let's see. Why would a government want to register firearms of law abiding citizens, or do you think all criminals are going to line up at the police stations to register. If the King of England could have confiscated arms from the colonists, we would not be a nation today. Giving up the right to bear arms is a dangerous thing, and registration of all arms is the next step. I am not a hate-mongering, conspiracy nut who is over the edge. I am a common man, working hard, paying taxes, doing my best to be a good citizen. Don't make a criminal out of me. You need to watch for two other bills that will be slipped into the works, quietly, I might add. They are about coding ammunition and ammunition with a short shelf life. Also, it is hard for me to take anti-gun idiots seriously when there are around 20,000 deaths each year in the US caused by drunk drivers like Ted Kennedy, and you don't heare a lot of crying about that.

That is a link (you may have to copy and paste) to the Gun Owners of America site. They send e-mails out to let you know what legislation updates they feel are important. Got one today that says there are two pro-gun amendments that are being held up by Harry Reid (that's what the link is to). It's just as important to contact our elected officials about these too!
