I make all of my ammo except for .22, wheel weights are used for casting, black powder is easy to make, caps are punched from copper sheets, and fulminate from toy cap rolls for primer caps.

Well what if you don't believe in God? Hikerchick is right. About the only right you have as a human is to breathe and go to the bathroom. All other rights are bestowed upon you based on where you are born. Not all cultures give equal rights to everybody. You sure weren't born with the right to own guns. Yes the government does give or take away rights. That's why you guys are making the ammo manufacturers rich. You think the new sheriff is going to take away your gun ownership rights. I sure do wish my worries were so baseless.
I think we should all have the right to own guns. I also think that we should all be held accountable for our guns too. I wanted to buy a small shotgun for varmints but all the paranoid gun owners have driven prices up too much.
actually according to wack jobs such as me, the run on guns and ammo started 3 years ago........ even with the assault ban running out...... Now any one out in america can buy a semi auto AK47, one of the most reliable semi automatic rifles out there

What are they good for though? The only round that hits dead on is the 1st round. If you have a full auto, they are just about useless. The reason why the Army switched to 3 round bursts. Even 3 rounds isn't much use in civilian life. I can see where you would want it if you were clearing a house with bad guys in it though. Well you never know we may all need to live in a Hollywood movie sometime. Dawn of the Dead or something. Of course you have to hit Zombies in the head so you would probably waste 2 rounds.

Everything has been going up steady since the recession started in summer of 2007. Bullets have been skyrocketing in the last 6 months. Strange how the brain responds to propaganda.
We definitely starting stocking up years ago, especially when the ammo started going up. Dozens of cases of all calibers that we own. Same with other family members.
It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it....
And there's no such thing as overkill (no pun intended)when it comes to the protection of your family and your possessions.

Actually I was talking about the semi-automatic ones. Although I have used the other. The semi-automatic one I have was made in the czech republic and comes with a 5 round and 10 round clip. It is one of the most rugged out of the box rifles I've ever owned. The caliber of the rifle is very similar to what I use hunting, and the accuracy is decent up to 200 yards (farthest I've used it). For more accuracy than that I've got a .308 stoner or a 30-06
There's really nothing farther than 600 feet that I want to shoot on most days though.
