I missed this thread yesterday. Let's see Saturday was my birthday so yesterday was "recovery" day. After taking care of all the animals, me and DH spent all day long in the living room watching tv like a bunch of bums. And the best part, DH went out to Smithfields and got us some fried chicken so I didn't have to cook. It was a good relaxing day.

Had a great day yesterday celebrating my daughter's third birthday with great friends and family. The weather was glorious, the food was awesome(and I didn't have to cook!), the kids were super well-behaved(no teasing animals, no broken anything, no bickering), it was just great!

And finally, the chickens, birchen cochin bantam and EE mix bantam, were a hit with everyone!

We had a fabulous day here too. It was foggy most of the morning but by noon the sun was out. I had my family with me and my best friend and her daughter over to see our new chickens. We made a huge batch of beef barley soup with carrots and mushrooms, homemade bread and chocolate pop overs. We spend the majority of the day sitting in lawn chairs and watching the chickens. They are just so new and interesting to all of us...I've only had them a couple of days and I'm totally addicted.

I took a long morning horse ride, in which I enjoyed the fabulous foliage (we're about 4-5 days from peak...). Then I finally got the burdocks out of all the tails (a chore I have been putting off all week), and watched football and napped all afternoon with my cat! I also beat my husband in the football pool, which meant he had to bake me a pumpkin pie. Yummy!
