HALLOWEEN Hatch-a-Long 2016 w/ Hosts, Mike, Sally & BantyChooks

I posted more on my other thread, but here are the two chicks that made it. They are having some leg problems, but I'm working on it. I already gave them vitamins. They sure are pretty babies, but I'm going to have to think long and hard if I want to do this again. I definitely learned some very hard lessons.
Oh, they are very cute. Don't forget there are genetics at play as well. Not everything is our fault.
True, hatching is not for the faint of heart, but I can take a loss if it is my fault. I just change what I do. I have a hard time leaving it up to the hens. That is out of my control.

think about how the chicks are hatched without incubators, nature takes it's course, I'm new at hatching also, I lost 1 on the last hatch, had to put it down after 2 or 3 days, hurt yes more than I thought it would, but at times has to happen, I have 8 sit now for end of this month, will see what happens,

Oh my goodness, seeing all the baby chicks is getting me so much more excited! Though, I don't know how well our eggs are doing. My Australorp pooped in the nest. I discovered it yesterday, so we took the opportunity to move her to a better location, but I am afraid the eggs may be ruined. I forgot my flashlight, so I tried using my phone to candle them, but it was not working well and I gave up. It is totally up to fate, so we will see what happens in the next 4 days. No issues with our Orpington, but still another 1.5 weeks for her.
oh I hope they are viable!!! good luck momma hen!!!

Candled today.

Day 18 eggs looking a little behind in development, hubby keeps turning down the heat in the spare room so I think on some nights temps have been dropping to the lower side of acceptable. Tossed one EE with definite blood ring. Saw movement in all the other eggs except one EE, but it looked to have good strong veins. One of the serama embryos seems very small compared to the rest. Its not even filling half the egg, but it was bopping around quite a bit so I know its still going.

Entering lock down are
1 serama x EE
3 pure serama
5 bantam EE

Day 11 eggs also looking slightly behind, harder to tell at this point, but all my remaining eggs are looking otherwise good with lots of movement.

Count for these is
2 serama X EE
5 pure serama
2 bantam EE

@Sally Sunshine --- I'm getting geese. I told you that. I know I need to run the temp slightly lower (which I am! I got it all setup) but what should my humidity be? I was told they liked higher humidity. It's going to be a battle to keep it right if it needs to be above 35% and below 60^
