These are just what's in my incubator this morning. (At least it looks like mostly females)
And that's not counting the 15 chickies in boxes or the ones I have in the outdoor brooder...

The logistics of the whole scheme would be almost criminal.
I'd have to overwinter. SO tempting...

BUT still considering.
I'm crazy enough to do it.

I have chickens showing up that look like that. They have that face, like the face yours has. And feathered feet.

No. I still have eggs hatching. Like right now. As we speak.
I should clean the chick fuzz out of it.

I was going to do it when I was done this batch...but now

Told my husband that you guys were telling me to set ALL THE EGGS!
He said...no, no, don't hatch all the eggs.

He's afraid I might end up with too many.
I mean, what's 200 or so chickens, right?

Ooh...wanted to say it's fantastic to see all the familiar faces and equally fantastic to see all the new people!!!

lol, it wouldnt be very hard for me, i only get 1-3 eggs/day

Well, today has just been a rock bottom kinda day. First my Singleton chick dies, then the kids find my normally feisty Cayuga drake practically lifeless and barely breathing. I don't know if he is going to make it through the night. He is taking very shallow breaths, but otherwise not moving a muscle; not even holding up his own head. He was fine less than a half hour earlier when I was outside taking pictures of the flock. He was walking around grazing and bug hunting with his girls. We have had zero predator activity all summer. No hawks, owls, coyotes, or snakes. Not even the presence of vultures anywhere near our little farm since our neighbor stopped raising chickens last year. So, I don't know what could have caused this.

Glad your drake made it. Any ideas as to what was up with him?
