I got lazy and only dated the eggs. I believe it is a Jersey Giant judging by the egg shell.
Too much on my plate lately to detail everything. Just gave a dose of Corid to this young Barred Rock Pullet..

3 tubs side by side.. poor piggy, poor chickie & the care free new additions hatching. all in the same room.

How horrible. I hope the neighbor makes it right the best they can.
I had never met this neighbor, in reality she lives two cross roads away from me. I guess my roo was just too loud and possibly that's why the dog came our way. I'm not looking for her to compensate me in any way. She seemed to be very very elderly and said that the dog was her sons, that he recently moved out and left the dog with her. That she has been trying to cope with caring for the dog, but will most likely be rehoming it because it's too much physically for her.

Sadly I went to go look and check on my other chickens, I have some younger pullets in a large two story rabbit hutch, and all but one seem to have died of fright because everything is intact and the hardware cloth isn't broken and not possible for the dog or anything to reach in. I had two other silkies in the coop as well who I could not find their bodies alive or dead. So all I have left from my 11 chickens is one lonely chick.

:( I am sorry about the whole ordeal you are experiencing. Life is certainly unfair. I can only hope brighter days and better fortune comes your way.

Only a suggestion @Twinsnchickens but you should contact Animal control and file a report before that dog does this again. It maybe a small child it goes after next. You may not be able to do anything for your situation, but a filed report(history of Violence and attacking)may just prevent someone else from a second event, 3rd event.. I am fearing for the small children playing close by in the neighborhood now.

She said that it was out of her control basically. That she tried best to keep the dog in, but it got out and she can't even catch it. It has run off pretty far.

I'm not even upset about the money I spent on the eggs. I'm just so sad because she was my favorite hen, she always laid an egg every day, she had the sweetest personality, and she was just keeping her eggs warm when the dog broke the enclosure door in, and ripped her out of her nesting box :hit
That is horrible! I’m so sorry for your loss. That is the worst feeling in the world. :hugs
