So I am out
I'm in West Virginia, I've shipped west with good results, but probably too far for your liking.![]()
@Twinsnchickens I'd be willing to send you a few of the chicks that hatch this round if you are willing to pay shipping![]()
I had eggs shipped from Pennsylvanian. Wonderfully packaged, not any damage I could see, box was in decent condition too. Had a 20% hatch rate for the CCL and a 0% hatch rate for the Serama. Fertility rate was pretty good, but they were just too scrambled. After that, I'm only willing to try if they're free! (or shipping cost only) Haaaaaaaa.....
I'm not going to be filing a report, only because the dog isn't a aggressive dog. Just a hound breed of dog, inclined to it's hunting instincts. I have a beagle and I know if I didn't keep him separate from my chickens, they'd all be dead, but he would never bite a child or person.I am sorry about the whole ordeal you are experiencing. Life is certainly unfair. I can only hope brighter days and better fortune comes your way.
Only a suggestion @Twinsnchickens but you should contact Animal control and file a report before that dog does this again. It maybe a small child it goes after next. You may not be able to do anything for your situation, but a filed report(history of Violence and attacking)may just prevent someone else from a second event, 3rd event.. I am fearing for the small children playing close by in the neighborhood now.
My suggestion was stated out of concern, not spite. If you are comfortable, so am I..I'm not going to be filing a report, only because the dog isn't a aggressive dog. Just a hound breed of dog, inclined to it's hunting instincts. I have a beagle and I know if I didn't keep him separate from my chickens, they'd all be dead, but he would never bite a child or person.
I would consider a hot wire box to zap future visits from any threat..God bless you
Thanks so much for the kind offer, but I will be going out tomorrow to find some more chicks for the loner chick. I'm also hoping to buy a incubator next month (because I already went over budget this month on chicken coop and run) I'm hoping I can hatch a whole new flock
I have quail eggs due to hatch sometime between tomorrow and Tuesday. Just started day 15... Or I would join in![]()
