Halloween Hatch Along - Setting Oct. 10th

As she's dried off she looks more silver, still black around her face. I wonder if she could be a blue splash Maran (she's egg A in the top picture). Her legs are pretty dark. I'll get another picture when I figure out where I set my camera down...

Congrats ccmarie! Your possible Java is so cute sleeping there!

Unfortunately, I lost another chick last night, but the other 3 made it. Even so I set them a day late, they hatched a day early, figures, LOL.I am very thankful for the three that made it though. They all seem healthy. On one, I didn't notice it had part of it's egg attached to it's head until I took them out of the incubator. It is an unfortunate thing as she/he now has the name Egghead. I can't resist!

Lets hope it's a boy!

And I took a quick picture of the 3 next to my eldest Serama, who is now 2 weeks old. They grow pretty fast, eh?

Happy Early Halloween hatching everyone!

I set 5 and today got 5 new dUccle babies. I started collecting eggs for the next go.
I hope everyone is safe and has a great hatch.

Oh congrats to you guys that have new babies & thank you for sharing your photos!

I expected to see pips when I woke up this morning but there were none. I was so tempted to candle them to see if any had even internally pipped... but I have heard peeping from the incubator! Yay! I thought I was going mad for a bit because these silly wild birds keep making peep like noises outside of my window.

My hatch is almost 1 whole day late. I am not surprised though because I had the light go out in my bator mid way through the incubation and it got a little cool in there. Oh I just wish they would hurry up! haha!

ccmarie - do you have yours in little individual areas for hatching? I look forward to you finding your camera to show up some more pictures of your little one now that it has fluffed up!

EIK. I DO HAVE A PIP!!! But it is almost half way down the egg (would be right at the base of the airsac) and facing the incubator floor so I can't see it properly. I was hoping to do some house work today but now I'm going to be glued to the incubator window!!!!!!!

Still having camera trouble, but you can kind of see her from here.

I built a grid to make individual hatches out of plastic canvas, because I wanted to know who came from which egg. We'll see if it works when more hatch out. The problem, though, was that Aspen hopped up onto it, which put her way too close to the heating wires of the incubator, so I moved her to the brooder earlier than planned.

ooo ccmarie she is adorable. I love the colour. Let's hope you get these camera issues sorted!

So does anyone else have babies hatched? (hehe it's like 4am in the morning over your side of the world!!) I'm still staring into my incubator that has only one pip! Now progress yet and it's been about 4 hours since I noticed the pip. HURRYYYY UP!!!!
