Halloween Hatch Along - Setting Oct. 10th

.... i know this is gunna sound bad but don't try to gas them with helium. If you want to gas them use co2. long story but helium asphyxiation is nasty. If you want the truth a sharp knock to the back of the head is instant as it disconnects the brain from the spinal column. They never know what happened.

PS: My wifes the same way, I have to be the one to deal with putting anything down. Especially her animals.

We use a pair of sharp scissors and take the head off, they bleed out and if you have barn cats, they will love it.

Eh my wifey didnt want the kids seein blood so i stuck with how i do it, That and my brooder is in my spare room. Knock em in the head toss out the window for the dogs/cats. Any sick birds or other animal, I burn in a burn barrel away from where we burn anything else.

Oh no you didnt! I know y'all are not on our Happy Little HALLOWEEN hatch talkin about snipping chicken heads off to let them bleed out for the barn cats. Geesh!
Kidding. : ) ... but really ...... Ugh .... GROSS!
Happy Lockdown! I will be locking down tomorrow night.
Xoxo Annmarie

My fault, sorry! LOL We're going to try to rehome them before I do anything.

Yaay, lockdown day! I'm one day behind you all, but I'll still lock down because Seramas are known to hatch early ;P Or maybe I'll wait until tomorrow as I'm dead tired, been clearing brush and getting started on my second coop. Another friend is giving me more wood, so I'm really happy, but I think I'm pooped out for the day. Last reserves will be going to pick up the wood, LOL.

I'm locking mine down. 5 eggs set, 5 eggs still growing, and hopefully 5 baby chicks.

The person I got my eggs from wrote their roo's name on them, so it's going to be a challenge, but I'm going to try to mark each chick so I know which egg they hatched from, LOL. I'm hoping fingernail polish on a toe will not harm them, and will last until I can tag them in a week or so?? (I plan on using black or blue)
