Ok these are my first 3 olive eggers pulled them out this morning..Looks like those Marans are hard at work have lots of pips and a few zips..

We had one born and one die last night (one of the 5 that hatched 4 am on Thursday, I noticed he was weak when TaLani came to pick out two chicks and was grateful that her hand never hovered over him (she must have noticed too).

A true Halloween baby is pipped this morning, in my Jack 'o Lantern egg (I drew on them in pencil. Yes, in my heart sometimes I am 5 years old.)

i want seramas too.... saw a thread last night that someone out this side of the continent has a frizzledserama roo and a pretty little mam and is incubating eggs....

i want whatever that cute litte single silvery chik was.. lol.. was it a blue maran?? do those lay chocolate eggs??

oohhh a chocolate egg roo with my EE that already lays almost olive eggs would give me reaally pretty olive eggers huh??

Happy Halloween everyone!!!

I woke up to one pip this morning - no action yet on the other 8 eggs, but I expect some action today.

having troubles keeping my humidity up

it is running around 55-58 I like it to be a solid 60+

It has been pouring rain all night here, you'd think the humidity would be higher in the house. Seems I recall last winter hatching that I had to run a room humidifier in there sometimes, though, so maybe I need to haul it out again. Our house is pretty air tight, so the rain outside doesn't raise the humidity much inside.

so... I'll keep ya informed of progress.

Oh, and I sometimes help too - for anyone who's keeping track

I break all the rules of hatching - and it usually turns out ok. I've killed a couple of chicks, but out of so many I have hatched, it isn't many. There were times that I didn't help, also, and should have - they got shrink wrapped and could have been saved if I had known this and had intervened, so its a tough call for anyone.

I love the idea someone had (sorry still early and I was scanning more than reading) of the Addam's Family names
