We have a Buff Laced Polish now. He (no, I don't know for sure but I'm hoping for a pleasant surprise) hatched on Thursday. I didn't know what he was when he hatched, so I started looking up everything the seller had and I saw a picture of Buff Laced Polish chicks. So, I'm pretty sure, since a Buff Laced Polish was on the list. lol, When my guy saw the chick he said, "You're not a Buffy chick." My only question is, do they have feathered legs? She didn't say that she had a Buff Laced Polish Rooster...

I candled my Halloween eggs. I have not counted the good, the bad, and the ugly up yet, but I think I have a chance for a pretty good hatch on Halloween, weather permitting.

is it bad when you think about re-scheduling a boyscout tiger den activity because your eggs are due to hatch??

i wish my house was organized enough to have 6 boys and their sibblings and parents over, i'd just do the den meeting here... they would get a kick outta that... one of the moms might borrow my incubator to hatch a few eggs in the spring... don't know if i want to give it up for a month.. lol...

is it hatch day yet???

yay, well, in that case i have 8 black austrolorps, 3 turkens, 13 bantam cochin, and 14 ee's in there. going to candle tonight to see what i can take out...so the quantities will change, but i'm using my new hovabator and loving it sooooo much. (there's a brand new LG that my dad bought me sitting right next to it ready to get set as soon as it temps....but after my last LG experience, i'm scared of that one.

Try to be there in the first hours that you have it up and carefully lower it with tiny tiny adjustments until you get it where it needs to be. Also keep the room temps as stable as possible.

In fact, and this is going to sound funny, but I'd almost like to try setting one up with store bought eggs just to stabilize the temperatures, then swap in my fertilized eggs when its ready.
