LOL yep Sizzle Project. Yes, frazzle to silkie will yield 100% frizzled silkie or Sizzle. That's a good start.

Okay - trying to type one handn due to serama baby in the left one is really hard....but I'm not disturbing the sleeping wee baby Tux. He's a black mottled and very small. And rather a momma's boy.

Yeah 21 days is forever....

I use a high powered LED candler, but with Marans and some of the Ameraucana eggs, all I ever see is the difference in light at the end of incubation.

The avatar that you have over there <--------------

Looks like a domestic chicken crossed with a Grey Junglefowl....

Is that yours. What IS it crossed with exactly, I am curious : )

Haha.

Thanks for dropping by! I am turning 21 VERY shortly... I would say in about a month? If you could guess when that is. Anyways, you SURE you want to be me when you grow up? Hummm, I don't think its possible because you are older than me, aren't ya? Lol

Blame Mr. TommyVT for everything huh? Sure! If one of them is orange, you can name him Tommy if you like. LOL

Have a great hatch!

He's Igor and he's one of my favorite roosters.

His mother was a brassy back Old English Game Bantam. She wiggled under my fence and went for a walk one day. When she got back, she laid an egg. I had a broody hen in the barn, so I waited for her to finish and snagged her egg for the broody's nest. Igor hatched from a bantam egg, but very shortly he was 2x and more the size of his "siblings."

We only have one neighbor who also has chickens. He's on the other side of a small patch of woods. I've never seen his birds (though I've heard his standard rooster crowing) and I rarely see him since he's very quiet and stay at home.

So, I know his mother was a brassy back. People think his father was either a black sexlink, a Dominique, or a Barred Rock.

Hello...

Thanks for replying. Oh, from a larger shot, its more apparent that he is LESS of a Grey Junglefowl cross (hardly at all rather). LOL

Take a look and tell me what you think?

Besides the body shape and feet color being apparent that its different, a little of its colors are simular though huh?

Well, I am getting the "PURE" Grey Junglefowls REAL soon so I should have some to go around (in chicks I mean) Spring 2010 : )

They are quite nice and rare. The males don't crow like normal chickens do believe it or not. More like a pheasant call...

Yes, though the pattern is similar, he's more likely brassy back OEGB and barred rock rather than jungle fowl. Igor also has a very classic sounding deep rooster crow, which used to be echoed from the other side of my woods.

The color is definitely from his mother's side of the family. We also crossed her mate with a bantam Barred Rock hen and got the almost identical MinIgor. I think it is similar to when you cross a BBRed with a Barred Rock and get a Crele. In fact, the pattern is almost identical to a Crele, except that the color is brassy rather than red.

I agree with you he is nowhere close to being an Grey Junglefowl but from the SMALL resized image, it sure does look like its been crossed with it. But oh well,
in general, he is nice looking one.

I hope one day I am to produce something of the sample picture of the Grey Junglefowl I have showed you but with ALL white tails.

It would look soooooo beautiful that way. All white tails on a body and color like that is something "majestic" for sure.

I can't wait!
