My Marans take longer then most...If I put in my Olive eggers the same time same day all of the olive eggers will hatch hours and sometimes a whole day before the first marans pip....

Not sure why think they like to make you wait for them..

Oh, that's good to know. So, I won't get worried if the others all pop out first! I have a few olive eggers in there as well. I could not see a thing when trying to candle them, so left them all in.

I never candle kida sad but i always have marans and cant see anything anyway..I got my Oct eggs and was thinking humm wonder if I should give it a looksie..So I am going to candle later with my DD... Hope I have some chicks in there..

These are the eggs I have in. I now have 3 pips. 2 JG and one from that 3rd green egg in the front row.

omg.. the little chick that could is all the way out with a tiny shell hat still on his head.. not stuck, he just hasn't moved after pushing out of it... but OMG... he was fast...
my 6 yr old named him victor already... lol...

I love Marans eggs wynette has some beautiful birds her marans are Great looking and I love the jersy giants amazing looking birds...

I have just plugged in my bator. I hatch in a seperate still air... I am setting mine today..After I check my temps..I will be popping in my BCM's and olive eggers...Since my girls have stopped laying my next hatch and last hatch will be silkies

Wynette just told me, that egg ... 3rd one in front row, is a 2nd generation olive egger, bred with a Marans. We will hope it is a pullet and will lay really nice dark dark olive eggs! YAY!
