Halloween ~ Hatch Day!

    Cyn, I'm sorry to hear about your lil fella. That's a shame.

    The guy said they would be no older than 3 days when he shipped them, so if they were 3 days and I get them on Tuesday, that makes them 9 days old. I've seen that after day 10, the chances of a good hatch really decrease.
    They are penedesenca eggs. I wanted some dark eggs and couldn't find bc marans that were affordable right now. So, I figured I'd try these.

    Well, I had two babies hatch today [​IMG] They were under a broody hen, though.

    I have 18 eggs due Oct 27, and a bunch more due on Halloween.

    Had a temp spike this morning, but I candled my eggs that are on Day 5, and they all had chicks swimming in them. I didn't candle any of the ones that I set yesterday, as there wouldn't be anything to see yet. I only candled because I was worried that they might be cooked.
