Halloween ~ Hatch Day!

I have a hova bator 1590 circulated air incubator. I removed the red stopper, but I'm concerned about keeping the humidity up. I have a damp sponge and water full, still I have 79% humidity. I have read to try and keep it above 80% the last 3 days. Am I wrong?

I just read my instruction manual that came with the 1602. It says that the vents may be removed during or after hatching if the humidity gets so high as to cause moisture on the windows.

So it doesn't sound like you have to remove the plugs, but that's an option if the humidity climbs too high.

I think this is something you have to kind of figure out based on the conditions in your home. In my house while incubating I keep one plug out. When I move them to the hatcher I keep both plugs in.

100 and 70... and peeping...

Most set the 8th, making this 20, temps ran low so I was expecting them late, then the power loss, add a day min. and then there's the two possible turkeys... one likely. Stopped turning them today. Mine didn't move or peep til today. I'm just praying and hovering over the bator like I'm going to deliver them myself.

Whoever is talking is doing so with some regularity... I'm having to wrestle the humidity now that the house heater is on. grrr.
