I have eggs just no power. Was thinking of joining this year but power company will be turning power off tomorrow due to wind and fire danger. Will be turned back on when the wind quits. I glad they are being safe but it will require a different life style here from on. The generator I have will be used to run the refrigerators.

Has been a long time. Still too many chickens. Good to see you around as well. Does your solar have batteries?

No, it's hooked into the power grid, so I can still get heat if I run my incubators too long—I'll just have to pay money for that, and the solar system took so much out of my wallet that I have no intention of paying a cent for my power ever again.

I’d love to be able to have solar. Cost and to many trees has stopped me. Actually had a company here to give estimate. He actually said he wouldn’t sell it too me due to trees. It wouldn’t pay back.

That's a bummer. The panels I have are on the roof and they're facing exactly south, so they work---barely.

I have a couple roofs here that would work well except the former owner built them without permit and company wouldn’t install on non permitted roofs. Oh the things one finds out too late.

I could order eggs and I’m sure they’d probably be here on time but I’m trying not to get anymore animals for a while.

Really hoping the winds die down quickly and they don’t have too turn power off.
I actually have to sell some of the birds I have before getting more as well.
One good thing, I’ve been able to free range some of them without losses to critters lately. They have really weeded the yard for me. In years past I wouldn’t be able too.
