Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

It was 40-50% up until lockdown. But it did get higher so I'd have to take out water. Adding water is a pain to me, I thought you had to add water into the incubator in order for it to work I didn't know that you could do it dry

I think it depends on where you live. From what I’ve read, “dry” doesn’t necessarily mean no water, but rather just low humidity, like 20-30%. Depending on where you live, you may need to add some water to keep it there, or you may not need to add any. I always thought it was completely dry, like not adding any water at all, but recently read in an article it just means low. I think I might go for that with this hatch but idk.

Our humidity is always above 50%

Once you're finished hatching these chicks clean your incubator let it dry and then turn it back on and let it run, with zero water added, for a day and see what it reads.

Additional birds arriving soon (probably next week). Goodnight, and good luck!!

:gig:gig:gig No throwing Balut eggs at cars and houses tonight!
Ohh - on a positive note, my son's car got "egged," last night. I googled fixes and found this recommendation - pick off all eggshells (do NOT wipe them, they scratch paint like diamonds!) and wipe off the mess with a damp cloth. Mix a solution of equal parts (2 cups each) white vinegar and warm water. Wipe the yucked up surface with that, then soak a clean cloth in the solution. Place the cloth directly over the egged spots and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Do NOT let it dry there. If the mark does not come off with one application ,keep repeating the clean solution, clean cloth process until it does.
It worked for us! DD's car looks like it survived the nasty "tricking treat."

You might not need to add any then!!

That’s a good idea!! I still need to buy a hygrometer. On the bright side, my new thermometer got here today. :D

Gotta put it in and test it.

Glad you found a solution!!
