My Swedish flower eggs went in the incubator this morning, I am getting eggcited already...

I can't wait to see these! I've never seen them before, I had to look them up. Very nice looking chicken that's for sure

I don't even know if I'll see anything Im too new to even know what to look for, I think I'm better off waiting until day 7 to candle

It never hurts to start looking earlier.....especially if you have relatively light colored eggs! Here’s some pics of what you may see

Not many have those chickens in my area. Usually it's sex links, bantam breeds, polish, silkies, and leghorns.

I ALWAYS say "Good Night," to the egglets ... and if temps are going really low, I'll nest a beach towel 'round the 'bator to keep in the warmth without compromising the ventilation. Does that count?

Exactly what I meant. I have an old, drafty house. Without the heat on, even 65* feels like forty because of the drafts (A good example of how coop drafts feel). So I wrap up the incubator when it’s cold in here.

I’ve been forbidden to hatch any more eggs right now so I’ll have to sit this one out but I’ll watch and see all the cuties

No one can get mad if the eggs just fall into the incubator. Besides, you aren’t technically incubating if you put a duster on top. Then it’s a broody hen.

Muddy reminded me that I cannot see into my eggs. Why did I have to incubate Welsummer eggs?!?!
