Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Pics
I stick my head out at red lights to talk to people's dogs :gigi was born to love animals. I used to go to a cow farm and talk with the cows especially the calves, they're gentle creatures.

20 out of 30!! that’s amazing!!! congratulations :celebrate

Love all the baby poultry of course but also both the DOGS :love

I talk to my cat, chicken, even my fish :lau

And I talk to dogs too lol

I've always loved animals, and have always talked to them casually as if in a totally normal conversation. We've only been here on this property a few months so we've still alot to do in order to have all the critters that I want, ie. donkey, pig, turkey, etc... I always like having a pig around for bacon. Birds for meat will be new, it was always just for eggs before. I think this has been a good hatch out, but it looks like I will lose one of the shrink-wrapped babies . Anybody with thoughts/opinions on what the varieties are, I'm very new to coturnix?

That's what mine do too. My roosters will crow at me if I do it to them.

I bawk bawk bawk to the chickens as well as talking to them and calling them for treats (chick chick chick!) and I meow to the cat sometimes. :lau

All 100% normal communication with our tenants/children/friends/dinner, right?!

I think some of them really do understand what I’m saying!! Animals are a lot smarter than people give them credit for. Of course not all animals but most of them!!

And I want tons of animals. Mostly quail, goats and/or sheep, and a dog haha

But also horses, more chickens, ducks, maybe turkeys, rabbits, etc.

And I have no clue but they are adorable!!!

Exactly!!! And some of them I know understand it. I used to have full conversations with the dog as well as negotiate with him like negotiating with a toddler. :lau

As for talking to dinner though... I’m not sure I could befriend dinner lol I’d probably still end up doing it though but might make it harder ha

I am sticking to ducks, chickens, turkeys, and quail until we move in a year. Most are for meat besides my laying ducks and chickens. The quail I want 5 with 1 male and 4 females, then their offspring will be for meat unless I fall in love with one of them.

That makes perfect sense!! I only have chickens right now and I think quail are next. My dad doesn’t like ducks so trying to save that for last. :p

And turkeys need a lot of room ha

I wish I could do meat birds but not sure I could handle it. Maybe I can though. Idk.
