Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

Welcome to everyone that's joined!

How exciting—good luck with your hatch. What breeds did you set?

I finally dug out my paper. These are eggs from taco the chickens shipping test. I got some for my broody hen who quit being broody the second the eggs were shipped, of course!

So in the new incubator I have:

Columbia American Easter Egger x

New Hampshire, Calico Princess, or Delaware
Americauna or Easter Egger
Bantam Cochin or Polish Crested

So it will be a bit of a mystery for awhile. But I’m excited!

How fun! I hope you have a good hatch.

Welcome all that have joined already!!!! In case you can’t tell, I am new to moderating a popular thread like Halloween Hatch-a-Long, but with a little (or a lot) of help from other members, I hope we can make this a memorable event!!!! The 2018 HAL/HAL was my very first attempt at hatching and has resulted in not only my “hatchaholism” but also the making of great friends on BYC!! I ordered my first incubator and hatching eggs for the 2018 event and have since hatched over a dozen chickens and hundreds of coturnix quail in addition to learning so much valuable information regarding hatching, brooding, and genetics!!!! There’s still lots to learn and improve upon.....but I hope you will join us for all of the FUN to be had in the first of the fall holiday seasons! There’s still time to start your very first hatch or add to your collection before winter hits! If you have any questions about incubators, incubation, or even where to buy eggs to get started......let us know!!!!!

My husband is going to kill me... but I'll join! I do need some more silkie and silkie Cochin cross babies from my girls ;)
I hatched some silkie x BO cross for the Easter HAL.....they were surprisingly adorable pullets!!!!! And I totally know what you mean about DH not gonna be happy!! I just shut down my incubators because I had some great hatches resulting in too many birds but now I’m going to fire them up again!!!!:lau

I'm so excited to see the crosses! I've had the silkies but not the cochin crosses. He gets over it when he sees the chicks lol he loves the silkies. Plus I did warn him I wanted to do another hatch hehehe
