:gig I would kill him!

My personal preference is to not have guinea or Silkies. I know you’re as happy as can be.
Funny story... I was thinking about getting guineas and I went to a swap. Someone had guineas for sale and those things did not shut up for the entire hour that I was there. They gave me such a headache and I told them that I didn't want them anymore. I couldn't even talk to the person about the guineas because they were so loud.

Fort Cluch, you are right Guineas are super noisey. We had 5 pearl grey ones for years and they were louder than any barking dog. They hated the mailman and knew the sound of his Jeep a block away. They would start up screeching like locusts on crack until he left lol.
Every time I would talk I swear they got louder... My husband gave me that look like if you buy those you're sleeping outside with them :gigi got ducklings instead. Now we hear quack quack all day long

Haha! I only have Muscovy ducks. They dont quack at all but the males makes a heavy breathing noise at each other..kinda creeper if you didnt know better. They roam around in the evening in the bushes behind the house and make heavy beathing noises :gig
I have a muscovy Drake too. He makes creepy noises.

Oooh Yes! Just the excuse I needed to start a new batch. I don't imagine I'll have a very good hatch rate, as the girls are all slowing way down with their molt and the first cold snap, so some of my eggs will be older.
Okay... I'm officially "IN!" We set up the incubator yesterday afternoon - Oct 10. We've got 11 Nankin bantams and 8 Silkie mixes - either Jersey Giant or New Hampshire Red, depending on which of Herman's ladies laid that particular brown egg. I really have no use at all for the mixes (other than sheer curiosity about the JG/Silkie cross) but I do have a home for all of them, straight run, so what the heck, right?
I'm really not expecting much to hatch, as the egg weren't really handled as hatching eggs (it was a last-minute decision) and the ladies aren't laying very well, right now. So, we'll see what we can eke out of some un-turned, week old eggs. If we get two or three, I'll be tickled pink (or blue, as the case may be!) Any more than that will be a blessed bonus!
