Most hatch alongs, I (and other MIA members) joke about hatching; hamster, penguin, unicorn, pegasus, rattle snake, dinosaur, elephant etc. eggs.

Okay, I was a little sad about you possibly losing chicks, but now I'm REALLY upset ... I was all set to ask where you got your penguin eggs. Mean ol' Mr. Popper wouldn't tell me ...

Do you need a wildlife permit to keep bobwhites? I'd love to have them in my back yard, if only to ear the whistle I always heard as a child. They're pretty much gone from the wild around here, now ... and I miss them!

The rules are different per state, check the Wildlife Management website for your state. Here it is different for Commercial than personal use.

Day five on my duck eggs; cloudy and dark area in there (babies developing). Woohoo, they were fertile! **groans** 30 days to wait though (if they're the breed I think they are); one week less if they're not.
