The store was out of the 150L, they only had 120 and that's not what I wanted.

I'd do a button hatch, but then I have to have heat lamps on for ages because they take so long to grow up, and that's just annoying when it's not actually hatching season. I double up batches in summer to make it more energy efficient.

They probably will hatch while I'm sleeping but I'm okay with that as long as they aren't messed up like the first two. I'm so tired just from dealing with those two. I hope all 27 that are pipped and zipped come out while I'm asleep so I'm not so worn out tomorrow

They should start popping soon if they are already zipping.

i think i’m up to 20 now......??? those lil boogers are tough to count!! planning to wait until morning for first brooder pull as several pipped and active hatches......yes @Texas Kiki i know this will probably give you a heart attack!!
(but as far as i can tell, no one has s**t in the bator yet)

My husband recorded the yellow one coming out. It took 15 minutes from pip to zip to hatch. It was so fast... Big dummy should've waited so it wouldn't have to stay in a bowl

Yup.

The babies were mine. That was my last rooster to disappear last month. The hen isn’t mine, but I wasn’t searching for old pictures of my flock.

SPR (silver pencil rocks) aren’t auto sexing, but... they are. For whatever reason, 80+% are born light boys, and dark girls. I think of 12 in the above hatch, I was wrong about one.
