Halloween/Thanksgiving Hatch-a-Long 2019

When you say humidity issues... What % is perfect?
and that is the million dollar question!!:lau
sorry, i am feeling somewhat cynical tonight!
I learned from hatching under broodies, that best humidity is similar to ambient humidity for your area.....i have been basically dry hatching up until lockdown (i try to only add enough water to keep it in 20-30% range) at lockdown or even first pip, i raise it to around 45%. since i’ve been doing that, my hatch rate for quail has been much better.

I'll try it next hatch

I've had 2 chicks die. They weren't moving in the egg so I did eggtopsies. Both were insanely small and not absorbing the yolk. Not sure why this is happening.
another thing to consider besides humidity is that not all chicks develop and hatch at day 21......i typically wait a minimum of 48 hours after first hatch before i recandle/check for life.....sometimes chicks can hatch up to 5 days late.....chicken chicks tend to be more forgiving with higher humidity (65-70%)

I drink mikes and Smirnoff drinks occasionally. I don't like beer at all. Margaritas with patron are number 1 in my book!
beer is an acquired taste :lau......I used to not drink it either but now we keep 2 kegs in our walk-in cooler with the tap on the deck!!! drinking mine now!!

The two I checked were dead in the egg, there was no life at all. They weren't developed and no signs of life.

That is amazing!! That sounds like a dream honestly lol

Well.... maybe fill the kegs and tap with sweet tea or raspberry iced tea or really any kind of tea instead of alcohol. :lau  :drool

Maybe some Coke too lol

Or Arnold Palmer (half and half).
